Three Services, One Workshop

Measured Work for Watches That Matter

Three clearly defined services, each matched to a specific set of needs — from a post-holiday salt-water clean to a full marine chronometer calibration before extended sea use.

How We Work

Each service at Aroon Tempus begins with an assessment of what the watch actually needs. We do not apply a standard package to every piece that arrives. A watch returning from a week of snorkelling has different requirements from one that has been worn daily for three years without service — and a marine chronometer being prepared for an extended voyage has different requirements again.

The assessment informs which of the three services is appropriate. In most cases, the work required is clear from the owner's description. Where there is uncertainty — particularly with pieces that have an unknown service history — a brief inspection is carried out and discussed with the owner before anything proceeds.

All work is documented. The condition report issued with every returned watch describes what was inspected, what was replaced, what was tested, and what is worth monitoring at the next service interval. This is a consistent practice, not an optional add-on.

A short-form workshop visit for watches that have been used in salt-water environments. The service covers gentle external cleaning, removal of accumulated salt from lug recesses and bracelet links, gasket inspection and renewal where appropriate, crown tube checks, and a pressure test where the case construction supports one. Suited to dive watches in regular use, daily-wear sports watches, and pieces returning from a long beach holiday.

  • Gentle external cleaning of case, lugs, and bracelet links
  • Salt deposit removal from recesses
  • Gasket inspection and renewal where appropriate
  • Crown tube inspection
  • Pressure test where case construction supports it
  • Short written note on completion

Process

1
Watch logged and visually assessed on arrival
2
External cleaning and salt removal carried out
3
Gaskets and crown tube inspected; replacements fitted as needed
4
Pressure test conducted where applicable
5
Condition note prepared and watch returned

Service Two

Mechanical Servicing with Strap Refresh

8,200 THB

A combined visit that pairs a full mechanical movement service with a strap and bracelet refresh. The movement is disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and regulated; the case and bracelet are gently cleaned, with optional light polishing referred back to the owner; and a new strap or fresh links can be fitted on request. Suited to watches in regular daily wear that have been overdue for attention. A written summary describes the movement's behaviour before and after the visit, along with notes on the case and strap condition.

  • Full movement disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning
  • Lubrication with appropriate horological oils
  • Timing regulation — rate and amplitude measured
  • Case and bracelet external clean
  • Optional new strap or bracelet links on request
  • Written summary of before and after behaviour

Process

1
Watch received, movement rate recorded before disassembly
2
Full disassembly; parts cleaned ultrasonically
3
Worn components identified; replacements discussed with owner
4
Movement reassembled, lubricated, and regulated
5
Case and bracelet cleaned; strap fitted if requested
6
Written summary prepared; watch returned with report

Typical turnaround: 2 – 3 weeks

Technical Protocols Across All Services

Practices followed as standard on every watch that passes through the Aroon Tempus workshop.

Secure Intake & Logging

Each watch is assigned a job number on arrival, with a dated visual condition record. Watches are stored individually throughout.

Humidity-Managed Storage

Parts cleaned and disassembled are kept in a low-humidity environment during drying phases to prevent new corrosion forming before reassembly.

Grade-Appropriate Lubrication

Lubricants are matched to the specific movement and its components. Greases and oils are rotated and not used beyond their recommended working life.

Timing Verification

Rate is checked using a timing machine before and after service. Any movement outside acceptable parameters is addressed before the watch is returned.

Owner Approval Before Extras

If inspection reveals components needing replacement beyond the agreed service scope, the owner is contacted and the work proceeds only with explicit agreement.

Written Report on Completion

A condition report accompanies every returned watch. It describes the initial state, the work completed, and any observations for future servicing.
